Body copy

The reason I have written this body copy in this format because it provides the reader with information on both the venue its self as well as the concert hall, which the actual article is written about. The reason I have done this is because it allows for the reader to gain more information about the venue as a whole and not just focuses on one section, this meets the client requirements of writing about a venue in north London whilst also giving the reader more information.

Once I decided the venue I was going to base my magazine around I went to Alexandra Palace to take photos which I could use in the article as well as on the front cover. The photos above are a few of the photos I took.

Final chosen images

These are the images I chose to include in my magazine:

The photo on the left is an outside photo of Alexandra palace. It is where  'The Great Hall' is located.

The photo on the left is of the main concert hall which the magazine is based around. It is called "The Great Hall

Setting up templates - Photoshop dimensions

The following section is about how I set up the blank documents to create the double page spread and the front cover.

Front cover

The first 4 photos are how I made the blank document for the front cover.

This is the starting page that appears when opening photoshop. Nothing can be done on this page until a new page is created

From there I needed to make the document. To do that I had to click file then select new.
Selecting new will bring up this page. This page allows you to decide the size of the paper you would like to use For the front cover I used standard international paper. This gave me a portrait blank A4 paper.
Once I had selected the page size I was given this page which is the blank page, this is what I designed my front cover onto.
Once I had this blank page for the front cover. I had to add a new page onto the document for the double page spread. To do this I selected new and this time I chose International paper and chose the A3 selection.
Once I had the A3 page I had to rotate it so I went to image selection clicked the rotate button this allowed me to get a horizontal A3 page to create my double page spread.

This is the blank horizontal A3 page I created my double page spread on.

Evidence of taking images
The photo below is of me taking the photos. This is to ensure there are no legal issues regarding copyrighted images.

Codes and conventions -

The reason I have chosen to do this venue is because it meets the client requirements of basing the magazine in North London. As well as that it is a well known venue but the concert hall is not as well known as other aspects of the building. So by writing about the concert hall aspect of the venue it will allow the reader to learn more about the venue as a whole. Conventionally, it is important to get a good shot (mid shot/level angle) of the venue itself to ensure that readers can identify where to go.

When taking the photos I had to consider multiple factors, one factor I had to consider was the lighting, the lighting I had to consider was the natural light from the sun. The reason I had to consider this is because from certain angles the sun will reflect off the lease and create a glare, the photos with the glare are unusable because it would be hard to see what I have taken a photo of.
