Meeting the client brief (M4 D1)

Image
Learning Outcome 4 (U3): Be able to carry out post-production techniques and processes for an original media product to a client brief I exported these as JPEG images so that they can be easily saved/transferred via print and online as outlined by the brief. Shape tool & Bucket - I used the shape tool (oval and square) to highlight key pieces of information that are available for my readers to read inside the magazine. I used these specific shapes as I felt they are quite simple and wouldn't distract my consumers from the main image. Additionally, they stand out. As my magazine is about Venues, I chose to put the 'venue reviews' in a diamond shape, by using the rotate tool. I chose this shape, as diamonds are associated with importance and higher status, therefore it reflected that this information was most important. The venues are all North London based, therefore this links to the brief as I was specifically asked to produce a magazine for...

Post-production techniques and processes (P5 U3)

Learning Outcome 4 (U3): Be able to carry out post-production techniques and processes for an original media product to a client brief Front cover Suitability for the target audience My front cover is suitable for my target audience. One reason I think this is because the colours I used neutral colours, the reason for having a neutral colour scheme is important for my magazine is because there is no target audience and therefore I have designed it so that everyone will like the colours. Strengths One strength for my front cover is that it is easy to depict what the magazines' main article is going to be about, the reason this is positive is because if the potential client were to walk past the magazine and see a venue which they may be interested in because they have never been there or have been there but not for a long time and want to find out more about the venue. Another strength of the front cover is that there are large amo...

Create production materials (P4 M3)

Image
Learning Outcome 3 (U3): Be able to create production materials for an original media product to a client brief. Body copy The reason I have written this body copy in this format because it provides the reader with information on both the venue its self as well as the concert hall, which the actual article is written about. The reason I have done this is because it allows for the reader to gain more information about the venue as a whole and not just focuses on one section, this meets the client requirements of writing about a venue in north London whilst also giving the reader more information. Thumbnails Once I decided the venue I was going to base my magazine around I went to Alexandra Palace to take photos which I could use in the article as well as on the front cover. The photos above are a few of the photos I took. Final chosen images These are the images I chose to include in my magazine: The photo on the left is an outside p...

Image
Learning Outcome 2 (U3): Be able to plan and develop pre-production materials for an original media product to a client brief.   Location recce Alexandra Palace is accessible by public transportation. The W3, W7 and 144 buses go there from Finsbury Park and Edmonton. Additionally, Alexandra Park is also served by a train line from central London.  The area is also accessible by car, with on-site parking. The closest major road is the A406. Location recce  - The reason for carrying out one of these is to make sure that the location is going to be acceptable for me to base my magazine there and to be a good area for me to take the photos.  Sketched layout Sketched layou t   - This was drawn up so that the client can gain an idea of what the outline of the magazine will be and allow them to make adjustments so they can have the design of it meet what they imagined it to look like.  I have chosen this layout ...
