Plan and develop pre-production materials (P3 M2 U3)

Learning Outcome 2 (U3): Be able to plan and develop pre-production materials for an original media product to a client brief. 

Location recce

Alexandra Palace is accessible by public transportation. The W3, W7 and 144 buses go there from Finsbury Park and Edmonton. Additionally, Alexandra Park is also served by a train line from central London. 

 The area is also accessible by car, with on-site parking. The closest major road is the A406.

 Location recce - The reason for carrying out one of these is to make sure that the location is going to be acceptable for me to base my magazine there and to be a good area for me to take the photos. 

 Sketched layout























Sketched layout - This was drawn up so that the client can gain an idea of what the outline of the magazine will be and allow them to make adjustments so they can have the design of it meet what they imagined it to look like. 
I have chosen this layout because it appeals to my target audience.  The reason it appeals to my target audience is that there isn't a large number of words so they won't get bored or uninterested whilst reading it. 

Fonts


 Fonts - I chose these fonts so that I can show that a wide range of genres will be covered throughout this magazine. I chose these fonts specifically because they are the most popular genres in North London for my target audience. As well as that they show the wide range and not just a small range.
Colour scheme
Colour scheme - I chose this colour scheme because these colours work well together and they don't represent one specific genre. As well as that they are colours which all genders will like and can relate to. 

 I chose red because it is a striking colour that will stand out on the page. I will be using these colours for the fonts. Yellow is a softer colour that complements the red. White will be used for part of the background and will fade into the black.

 Location release form
Location release form - I carried out one of these because I needed permission from the owner of Alexandra Palace to be able to take photos and use them to make money from them, this means that when I publish this magazine it means I can't have legal action taken against me. The present owner of Alexandra Palace is the London Borough of Haringey, so permission will need to be granted from them.
Risk assessment 

Risk assessment - I carried one of these out so that when we go to take the photos of the venue there will be no potential health and safety issues, no legal issues and no other issues with the taking of the photos and we can take the photos with no problems. I have identified the risk, the level of risk, and precautions taken to overcome the issue.
Gantt chart


Gantt chart - The reason I made one of these is so that when I am in the production stage of the magazine, I am able to know how long I should be spending doing each part of preparations, such as: taking photos, editing photos, etc.

Moodboard


Moodboard - The reason I did one of these is so that the client can gain an idea of what the magazine is going to consist of and whether the photos are the type of photos the client would like.

Create production materials (P4 M3)

Learning Outcome 3 (U3): Be able to create production materials for an original media product to a client brief. Body copy The reason I have written this body copy in this format because it provides the reader with information on both the venue its self as well as the concert hall, which the actual article is written about. The reason I have done this is because it allows for the reader to gain more information about the venue as a whole and not just focuses on one section, this meets the client requirements of writing about a venue in north London whilst also giving the reader more information. Learning Outcome 1 (U3): Be able to create a proposal with sample materials for an original media product to a client brief.   Learning Outcome 2 (U21): Be able to create a proposal and pitch for an original media product based on a given brief Objective The purpose of this magazine is to inform the audience about upcoming concerts in these venues, as well as that it will inform the reader of previous concerts and music based events that have happened in those venues.
