3 key ideas
Idea One - From exploring venues in North London, I have discovered that several are visited frequently from music lovers.
The primary target audience will be 16-25-year-olds, male and female, all ethnicities. The reason these are my primary target audience is that these are the most common ages that people will begin to go to concerts.
The secondary target audience is 26-35-year-olds, male and female, all ethnicities. The reason that these are my secondary target audience is that these age groups are still going to concerts but not as often as the primary audience.
The monthly price of the paper magazine will be £5, whereas the yearly cost will be £63
The monthly price of the online copy will be £3.99, whereas the yearly cost will be £50
Inside this magazine would include; previous artists that have performed in that venue, future concerts that have been announced, as well as a smaller section for possible other music-based uses for these venues.
The colour scheme will consist of White, Yellow, Black and Red
Idea two - I have also come up with the idea to do a magazine based on specific artists, both upcoming and established artists. This magazine is designed to help promote upcoming artists as well as giving concert information and other information of these artists.
The primary audience will be 12-16-year-olds, male and female, all ethnicities. The reason these are my primary audience is that these ages people are becoming more interested in their favourite artists and as well as that they will want to know information about these artists concerts.
The secondary audience will be predominantly music producers. The reason this will be my secondary audience is that it will feature a section which speaks about upcoming artists.
The monthly price of the paper magazine will be £4.99, whereas the yearly cost will be £62.
The monthly price of the online copy will be £3.50, whereas the yearly cost will be £45.
Inside this magazine would include; Upcoming artists, information on popular artists, Interviews with artists, Reviews of upcoming artists and artists' concert information.
The colour scheme will consist of Blue, Yellow, Black, and Green.
*This is supposed to be in black font
Idea three - This magazine will be about a specific genre, mainly rock. This magazine will be designed to help people who are looking into new music genres find more music that they like. Also, this is also for people who want to find out information about their favourite genre.
My primary audience will be 25-35-years-old white males, the reason these are my primary audience is because these are the people that will predominantly listen to rock music and as a result will want to know more about it.
My secondary audience is 15-24-years-old male from all ethnicities. The reason that this is my secondary target audience is that it is mainly men who listen to rock music. The reason that this target audience is younger is that at these ages people are looking into other music genres to expand the music they listen to.
The monthly price of the paper magazine will be £4.99, whereas the yearly cost will be £62.
The monthly price of the online copy will be £3.50, whereas the yearly cost will be £45.
Inside this magazine would include; Information on popular artists in this genre, sections that speak about famous people that have been part of this genre and also albums being released from this genre.
Conclusion
The idea I will be choosing is idea one. The reason that I am choosing to do this option is because I feel as though I will have the most information to complete this; by having more information for this magazine than the others will help me because it means when I am designing the magazine I will have a better idea of what I want to include. As well as that by choosing to do a venue based magazine will help me to bring in a large range of customers as it won't be targeted to a specific type of music, instead will target age groups which will allow for more customers.
Furthermore, the client has asked to base the magazine in North London, so by choosing to do Venues it has also allowed me to easily identify some possible articles to write. The magazine will consist of both iconic and well-known music venues such as; Koko and the roundhouse, as well as smaller venues such as local clubs and venues such as the Dublin castle. When writing about these venues I will include background to them such as historical information if it seems interesting.
As well as that, the client requested that the magazine should be able to be expanded to all of London not just specifically in North London. Being based on venues it allows for easy expansion to other areas as there is a large plethora of music venues across London.

First ideas
- A possible genre based magazine (either one genre, or a variety of genres), that promotes different music for different audiences. The double page spread could include interviews from readers or recommend top tracks to readers.
- A possible artist based magazine, this magazine could be based around one artist or multiple artists. This will promote upcoming artists. The double page spread could include, interviews with listeners of the artists, concert information or information on the artists
- A possible group artist magazine, this magazine will target bands/groups that want to get their names out there. The double page spread will include reviews on their music, interviews from the bands and possibly concert/album information.
- A possible venue/venues based magazine, this magazine may include concerts that will occur there and venues based in North London. The double page spread will include reviews on the venues, the location of the venues, concerts that will be happening there and possibly other uses for the venues e.g Parties.
